Dawn Summers
This morning, she'd woken up feeling smaller than usual, which was a huge thing after being a giant for practically ever (minus Homecoming).

The next thing the Watchers council (aka Willow and Giles) heard was the resounding echo of a Dawn Summers shriek.

On the plus side? She was Dawn-sized again.

Just one small problem.

Yeah.

She wasn't sure whether to spread this around or not. First, she needed to find some kind of shirt.

Re: Um.

Hey. No, I'm not dead. Just, y'know, kinda going through some stuff.

How's everyone else doing?

Love,
Dawn

P.S. - Anyone know anything about Thricewises?

P.P.S. - Oh, and don't say anything you don't want Sergeant Fury Xander to know. He's typing.

Not that Dawn was excited about Rikku's visit or anything, but she was practically wearing a hole in the floor as she bounced from the window to the door and back again (and again and again and again) waiting for her to arrive.

[ooc: Primarily for the blonde with the Godhand, but open if anyone wants to call or e-mail, sure!]

After a long week of getting settled back into her routine at school, Dawn finally checked her voicemail. She didn't recognize the first voice, so she couldn't call back to tell him that yes, to the British, tea was the same thing as sex.

The second, unfortunately, she recognized all too well. She groaned, flopped on the bed, then dialed her sister.Cut for sisterly bonding )

Dawn was studying. Or at least that was what she was telling herself. In reality, she was avoiding everyone and doing some serious research. Classes were over, she'd done the obligatory family thing, and now she just needed to set her mind at ease.

Easier. Maybe. Because if she was really...then she had...and then there could be...

Not that she was telling anyone any of that (assuming she ever completed a sentence, even in her own head), because that way lay lots and lots of badness. And possibly dead Winchesters and Dawn locked in her room for the rest of eternity.

Which would be very, very bad. And illegal and possibly apocalyptic. God, she really should have listened to Giles, way back in the day, and had she really had that thought? And while she was at it, where the hell was the Council's interspecies genetic section? Or maybe she should cross-reference it with prophecies, comma, Key?

Maybe hiding under the bed was a viable option.

Yeaaaaaah, Dawn wasn't going to class today. Or possibly tomorrow. Maybe the next day. No homework, either. She couldn't call Dean, no matter how much she needed someone to make her feel better. Or Rikku. Or Luke. They'd all known. And now they'd all know how desperate and dumb she was. Fun.

She felt very, very alone.

Then she remembered that she wasn't, and dialed a number.

[ooc: For one.]

She'd put it off long enough. No one else she knew was getting married, she'd called everyone she knew, there was no impending apocalypse to research...

Dawn was going to have to do her homework, darn it.

Latin first, since that was the easiest.

She even closed the door, since she really meant to study this time, although the music was still going.

And then, there was a knock on the door... )

[Preplayed with the very mean [info]psychic_wonder. Rated R for "Rawr, sexy times!" and O for "Ow ow ow, emotional trauma." NFI, NFB due to distance, OOC comments are awesome!]

After spending the day before primarily feeding Dean, Dawn had zonked out. Now, it was early (or early-ish) on Sunday, and she was warm and comfy and not at all alone in the bed.

Like she would have let Dean sleep on the floor? Come on.

[ooc: For he who is dealing with the bed-hog.]

It was almost finals, so Dawn was supposed to be hitting the books. What she was doing instead, though, was sorting her laundry by color, since she needed to take clean clothes with her to Scotland when she went for Thanksgiving. Buffy was still pretty unforgiving about that kind of thing.

After that, she figured she'd have a nice peanut butter, banana, and Cap'n Crunch sandwich for dinner, then get back to work. It wasn't glamorous, but at least she hadn't been kidnapped.

It was still midterms. Unfortunately, going to a high school homecoming, finding out the guy you were still hung up on had a date with someone else, and having most of your friends temporarily losing their minds didn't count as grounds to miss exams.

Which was really just another reason for her to miss Fandom, really.

Ignore the drool on the textbook. She was conjugating Latin via osmosis.

"Oh. My. God."

Cut for good plans being thrown out )

Which mean she was going to have to suck it up. She hated sucking it up.

With another sigh, she picked up the phone to call Kenny. Maybe this would get him over his crush? Darn it. Voicemail. "Um, hi. This is Dawn Summers. No, really. Something's, er, happened. Could I borrow a pair of pants? You know the room. Thanks, bye."

She hung up and went back to staring.

Dawn was leaning up on one elbow, watching Sam. She knew she should get up and finish the room protections, but she didn't want this to end, didn't want to live in a room by herself.

God, this sucked.

[ooc: Yes, we're insane. NFB due to distance, obviously. For him who is in the bed.]

Dawn and her stuff were there waiting, and she was trying not to cry as she looked around the island one last time.

Sniffling might have been audible.

[ooc: Dawn's goodbye post! Will pick up pings when I get home from work and may be on SP in parts after that.]

From her spot on Sam's bed, Dawn was staring at her things piled up on her bed and debating whether to even bother unpacking them, since she was just going to have to pack them up again in a day or two.

Not unpacking was winning, but wow, she hated that the reason wasn't just because she was lazy.

Dawn was, in theory, working on some translations for Giles. And writing to Buffy. And maybe trying to find a wedding gift for Xander and Bridge.

In reality, she spent a lot of time walking back and forth between the window and the mirror in the bathroom, checking to see whether they were off the shore of California yet and whether she should keep the green hair or switch to something more festive--like blue. Brown suddenly looked very blah to her.

The door was cracked open.

On some level, Dawn couldn't believe she was doing this. Sure, it looked like she was setting up for a night of drunken debauchery with Meg, but in reality there was an important ritual about to take place.

Still, there was some kind of alcohol and glasses, and she was starting to lay out a circle. Sand, a bikini, suntan lotion, beach books, and sea shells all got placed. She wasn't sure what would make sure they got to the right California, though, or why they had to do this in their underwear.

A deal was a deal, though, so now she started getting undressed as she waited for Meg.

[ooc: Open for one, obviously. That they met and engaged in drunken silliness is FB, but the reason why is NFB, thanks.]

Dawn (and her many, many shots of tequila) tugged John with her into the bathroom, then closed and locked the door behind them.

Next came the scissors, and really, this would have been so much easier if he would Just. Sit. Still.

She stared at him and concentrated hard, even biting down on her tongue.

"Look, if you guys aren't going to co--cowoper--work together and hold still so I can even things up the weensiest bit, you're gonna end up with an earful of scissors. Just saying."

A few minutes of snipping, then, "Oops."

"I can totally fix that."

Sam wasn't home yet. He'd left this afternoon with Dean and he wasn't home yet.

This was...not good.

How long did she have to wait before calling the clinic without sounding crazy?

Oooh, hey. Volcano eruption. Noooot good. Since this didn't seem to be anything more apocalypse-related than usual, Dawn was taking pictures of the volcano through the window instead of researching.

Next, she sat down to write a couple of letters. Luke would probably understand, but what on Earth could she say to Buffy?

Buffy )

Luke )

"Hi room!" Dawn threw her stuff on the floor, then sprawled on her bed. Her own bed, with her own boyfriend-slash-roommate hopefully finding his way back at some point.

She should unpack and call Buffy, but first she'd be wallowing in all the privacy.
